System Care Antivirus is a rogue malware program that displays bogus scan results of malicious software that it has detected on your computer. It's just another fake anti-virus program and it's fake scan results shouldn't be taken seriously. System Care Antivirus was constructed to cause problems and definitely not to solve them. It is part of a group of malware infections that are spread by compromised and also intentionally malicious websites.  These particular websites utilize the Black Hole Exploit Kit to spread malicious software.

Once System Care Antivirus has compromised your computer, it makes several changes to your system to make it's removal complicated. Uninstalling it from your "Programs and Features" or "Add/Remove Programs" isn't possible since it won't be listed with your other installed applications

How to remove System Care Antivirus from your computer

You’ll need to download the programs listed below on a clean computer and then copy them onto the infected system  for execution:

  1. Combofix
  2. Emsisoft Antimalware

System Care Antivirus removal procedure step by step:

  1. First, start your computer up in “Safe Mode with Networking” by pressing the “Function F8” at start-up before the “Windows” logo appears.

  1. Once in “Safe Mode with Networking”,  disable any anti-virus utility programs that you already have installed on the infected computer and run a scan with the downloaded copy of “Combofix”.  It may take around 15 minutes or more to complete it’s scan. It’s important that you don’t interrupt it by trying to open any other programs on the infected system while Combofix is performing it’s scan. It’s scan will involve around 60 stages, but it doesn’t take long to complete.
  2. After Combofix has completed it’s scan, decompress the copy of Emsisoft Emergency Kit by double clicking on it’s executable.
  3. Once the emergency kit has been decompressed, execute it by clicking on “Start.exe” in it’s containing folder.
  4. Once the emergency kit opens, click on “Emergency Kit Scanner”.

  1. Next, click on “Update Now” to update the kit’s definitions.

  1. Next, perform a deep scan of your computer.

  1. After the scan is complete, quarantine any malicious files that the scanner detects on your system.
  2. Next restart your computer normally.
  3. Once your computer has restarted, check it for the same pop-ups that were being displayed by System Care Antivirus. If the pop-ups are still present you may need to seek the advice of a professional repair technician. Otherwise, at this point, the removal procedure should be complete. Also make sure to reactivate the real time protection of your installed anti-virus utility.
