Antivirus Security Pro Interface

Antivirus Security Pro is a rogue Anti-virus program that displays fake security scan results on computers that it has compromised. The Antivirus Security Pro virus belongs to the  Rogue.WinWebSec family of infections. Unsuspecting online computer users may acquire this infection from visiting malicious or compromised websites.

Once installed, Antivirus Security Pro modifies configuration files so that it starts after you log into your Windows account.. It also makes changes to your configuration files so that anytime you try to access your personal data files or you try to open any application executables, Antivirus Security Pro displays a security warning stating that the file or program that you are trying to access is infected with some type of virus.

The rogue Antivirus Security Pro displays fake warnings that include:

Warning! Infected file detected

Location: File System

Suspicious activity detected in the application notepad.exe to the behavior of the virus Win32/Conficker.X.

For your security and to avoid loss of data, the operation of application cmd.exe has been temporarily restricted.

Warning! Network attack attempt detected.

To keep the computer safe, the threat must be blocked.

Warning! Infected file detected.

How To Remove Antivirus Security Pro From Your Computer

You should be able to download the utilities you will need to remove this infection from “Safe Mode with Networking” on the compromised computer. But if you run into issues attempting to do so, you will need to download the needed software on a known clean computer.

You will need to download a copy of:

  1. To begin, restart the infected computer into “Safe Mode with Networking” by pressing the “Function f8” key at system start up, before the Microsoft Windows logo appears.

  1. Next, log into the affected user account or another account that has administrative rights.
  2. Next, open a web browser and download the files listed above, unless you have already done so before this point.
  3. Once you have the needed files, execute the copy of “rkill” by double clicking on it’s executable in it’s containing folder. It will take a few minutes to terminate any detected malicious processes that are currently running in the computer’s memory.
  4. After “Rkill” has finished, extract the copy of “Emsisoft Emergency Kit” by clicking on it’s executable. And make sure that you decompress the kit to an easily accessible file location.
  5. Once the “Emsisoft Emergency Kit” has been decompressed, start it by clicking on “Start.exe” in it’s containing folder.
  6. Next, once the kit opens click on “Emergency Kit Scanner”.

  1. Next, update the kit’s definition files by clicking on “Update Now”.

  1. After the definition files have been updated, perform a deep scan of your computer.

  1. After the deep scan completes, remove any malicious files and configuration entries that it detects on your computer.
  2. Afterwards reboot your computer normally.
