Qvo6.com Redirected Search



The Qvo6.com virus is a browser hijacker that is installed with various free programs. Once installed, it changes your web browser's homepage and also the default search provider to Qvo6.com search engine. Afterwards, any online search attempts will be redirected to Qvo6.com. And the results of those searches will be loaded with third-party advertising, spam and other inaccurate search results.


Utilities that you will need to remove the Qvo6.com Browser Hijacker


To uninstall this particular browser hijacker, you will need to download three utilities. You should be able to download them on the infected computer, but if the browser hijacker hinders your efforts, download the needed software on a clean computer and then transfer it to the infected one via a burned cd.


You will need to download:


Adwcleaner

Shortcut cleaner

Malwarebytes



How to remove the Qvo6.com browser hijacker


Before you start, close any open programs and web browsers on the compromised computer

  1. Next copy the downloaded utilities to your desktop or some other easily accessed directory
  2. Next, execute the copy of Adwcleaner by double clicking on adwcleaner.exe
  3. Click on "Search"















  1. Once the search completes it will display a log file that contains any malicious registry entries and software that it found.























  1. Next, click on "Delete" and Adwcleaner will remove the malicious software and registry entries that it has located on your system















  1. After the delete process has completed, execute Adwcleaner once more and then select "Uninstall" to remove Adwcleaner from your computer














  1. Next, start the downloaded copy of Shortcut Cleaner by double clicking on "short cut-cleaner.exe". It will remove any malicious or hijacked shortcuts from your computer.















  1. After it completes, install, update and run a full system scan with Malwarebytes. And after Malwarebytes completes remove any malicious files that it finds  on your computer.




















  1. Next, open your web browser and reset it back to it's default settings by selecting "Tools" and then "Internet Options" and then "Advanced" and then by clicking on reset down at the bottom.










































  1. Next, set your browser homepage back to what it was set to before Qvo6.com compromised your computer. Or whatever you want the homepage to be set to.























  1. Afterwards close the browser.


At this point the Qvo6.com virus should be totally removed from your computer.
